Sonia Huerta talks about Innovation to the Colombian Competitiveness Commissions

"In Tourism, what gives value to the traveler? 70% Experiences, 20% Emotions, 10% Quality in service "that is how Sonia Huerta, manager of the firm THR, began her Tourism Innovation presentation the past July 25th in San Andres, Colombia. As part of the National Competitiveness Regional Commission Meeting, Huertas said "Innovation is to generate ideas and turn them into value for our customers... customer empathy is a partner of innovation".

Colombia Competitividad During the past two days, members of the 32 Regional Commissions of Competitiveness, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Confecamaras (Network of Commerce Chambers of Colombia), the Presidential Counselor for Public and Private Management, the National Planning Department, Colciencias, the Private Competitiveness Council, universities, business men and guilds met to the progress of the work of the Commissions in the Colombian departments, share their experiences, discuss issues that affect the competitiveness of their regions and propose solutions.

During the National Meeting of Competitiveness Regional Commissions , the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism presented to the audience the Information System for Managing Competitiveness, an online system that will allow business men, players of the Regional and National Commissions of Competitiveness to know the progress of competitiveness on three fronts: regional, sectorial and cross-cutting.

The meeting had as a special guest, James Robinson, an economist professor at Harvard University, co-author of the book "Why Nations Fail", a work that has been praised by the international community, which argues that the natural resources of a nation are irrelevant in the absence of technology, innovation and high productivity.
