THR presented the MICE strategy that has been developed for Peru to the new Deputy Minister of Tourism

Mariano Hervas, manager of the consulting firm THR, traveled to Lima last week for a special presentation of the MICE strategy for Peru developed by the firm.

THR introduced to the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism of Peru the strategy for the MICE industry (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) prepared by the consulting firm the second semester of 2013.

"The MICE industry generates important benefits for the destination, and the market grows every year, but despite that this market presents certain attractive, there is a strong rivalry. Peru has potential, mainly Lima, Cusco and Arequipa, but should develop their offer intelligently", Hervas said.

Moreover according to a press release issued last week, the Deputy Minister of Tourism will chair the Tourism Advisory Committee and will be accompanied by the National Director of Tourism Development, Isabel Mendoza, representing the ministry.

The Tourism Advisory Committee aims to boost the development of the sector, with recommendations, policy guidelines and standards related to tourism, as well as the communication channel between the public and private sector to achieve a common vision on development strategies to apply.
