"There is an evident need to adapt the Business Models of tourist destinations"

The 1st edition of Tourism and Society Workshop: "Holiday Tourism Trends", held at CaixaForum in Girona, brought together experts from the tourism sector in areas ranging from academia to business, institutional and communication.

Tourism WorkshopDuring the workshop, Eulogio Bordas, president of THR, moderated one of the four panels of the program, titled “Analysis from the institutional scope”. Together with experts from the sector, debate focused on the role played by both public and private institutions and the growing need to adapt the business models of tourist destinations.

Other tourism trends analyzed in the panel were the sizeablegrowth of the millennials segment, the increase of clients of different cultural and religious backgrounds, the experiences as the main motivator and the growing demand for quality guarantees, to mention a few.

This first edition was attended by commissioner of Enterprise and Knowledge, Jordi Baiget, as well as the Government delegate in Girona, Eudald Casadesús.
