  • Agreeing on the promotion criteria for Panama as a destination on a national and international level.

  • Fostering the exchange of experiences, success stories and tourism products, to innovate and integrate the tourist offer.

Sonia Huerta, manager of THR Innovative Tourism Advisors, presented the best practices for cooperation in the tourism sector in her presentation entitled "An effective partnership is key to the success of a tourism destination ".

"Partnerships are established to improve the competitiveness of a destination, and in this adventure, the least important aspects are the administrative formulas used like agreements or concessions, to mention a few. The important thing is the irrepressible desire, shared by many, for developing an increasingly competitive tourism industry and having the right leadership for it.”, said Huerta.

Meanwhile, the manager of the Tourism Authority of Panama, Gustavo Him, said that it is a great achievement for the country that all the sectors related one way or another with the development of tourism in Panama, were present at this convention, where progress, setbacks and projections of the sector were analyzed for two days.

After the first edition of CONATUR, the Tourism Authority of Panama and the Panama Tourism Chamber confirmed that the convention will be held annually with the aim of positioning Panama as a competitive tourist destination.
