Eulogio Bordas sees Istria as a world class tourism destination in 2025

"Tourism today is an important part of Istrian economy, but tourism activity remains seasonal and, to make matters worse, season does not last long" said Eulogio Bordas, THR CEO, last Friday on his conference ‘Istria as a world class tourist destination’ at the Croatia Business Open.

Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic opened the conference on tourism in Umag talked about what Croatia was and what it should be. He said that the people want a change, but not too much.

At the same time, President Ivo Josipovic said that Croatians should support the Government to bring order in the Croatian economy. The President added that during the summer all the Croatian Government Ministers must be also Tourism Ministers.

Croatia Business OpenBordas mentioned during his presentation that "Istria is internationally renowned for being one of the most beautiful places for tourism in Europe. It could become a world class tourist destination 10 years from now, with a much longer season, more profitable investments and better employment in terms both qualitative and quantitative. Important international organizations endorse these facts".

"I see Istria in 2025 as a world class lifestyle destination where investments profitability triples the current one; jobs abound and are better-paid; heritage has a superior value than that of today; tourist activity is sustainable, and Istrian locals trust their future and see their identity reinforced", he added.
