A bad summer for Barcelona tourism, it is neccesary to change the strategy (TV3)

The business linked with the tourists' arrivals - hotels, restaurants and shops - have invoiced this summer less than the expected forecast in Barcelona. Beyond the specific data, the experts think that it is necessary to change the future strategy because the mass-tourism in the city will turn against the tourism industry.

"There is a very high risk, from my point of view, that Barcelona is going to turn into a city where the type of tourism that arrives does not contribute to the quality of life that the own inhabitants of Barcelona support. In addition, is a tourism with low expense capacity, which generates small benefits to the city" Eulogio Bordas, THR’s president, said.
