Tourism innovation goes international at Fitur Know-How & Export

Within the framework of Fitur Know-How & Export, representatives of the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank confirmed the commitment of their institutions to the tourism industry and their interest in the Spanish offer in terms of new technologies applied to this sector. In this same space, companies like THR Innovative Tourism Advisors, were present and shared their international experience as we can see in the video that we present below (in spanish).



"Experts in the area of tourism are gathered in this pavilion. We are running development projects and we have to keep up with what is happening within the industry, with new technologies and methodologies, and the development and growth in the sector. " said Damien Shiels, Program Manager for the Competitive Sectors at the World Bank.

"We have already worked in the past with these organizations (referring to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, as well as to the National and Regional Tourism Authorities) and we always like to know what needs they have, what projects they have in mind for the future, to try to identify possible opportunities for collaboration" said Sonia Huerta, Manager at THR.

"There is a prevailing need in our society to live experiences, for the trip you take to have meaning and for you to have memories and stories to tell. The big step that the industry is taking now is the transformation from selling beds to selling activities and experiences." added Huerta.
