THR attends the Tourism Technical Workshop at México organized by ICEX

THR was one of thirteen Spanish companies that attend on June 26th and 27th to the Tourism Technical Workshop in Mexico organized by ICEX Spain and the State Agency for the Management of Tourism Innovation and Technology (SEGITTUR).

Tourism Technical Workshop in Mexico ICEXThis workshop is part of the Specific Tourism Cooperation Programme for 2014-2015 signed between the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism of the Government of Spain, which responds to the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation between Spain and Mexico.

The main objective of this meeting was to see, on first-hand, the opportunities offered by the Mexican market in the tourism sector and promote cooperation between Spanish and Mexican companies in the tourism industry.

Salvador Sanchez Estrada, undersecretary of Tourism Policy and Planning of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) said that for Mexico and Spain, tourism is undoubtedly one of the most important growth engines, and both nations have comparative advantages that have boosted its tourist vocation and continue to drive the openness and access to new markets.

"THR exports the tourism know how that Spain has, thanks to its extensive and successful experience (reaching more than 60M visits per year). Mexico is a growing market to import that know how to ensure their proper development" said Mariano Hervas, manager of the THR firm.

The Spanish companies participating in this workshop were: Asesoría y Gestión de Empresas de Hostelería S.L., Assignia Industrial, Cloud Hospitality Services, S.L., Deloitte Consulting, S.L Tourism Division – Spain, Fundosa Accesibilidad, S.A. (Fundación ONCE), Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation, Fundación ITMA, IDOM Ingeniería y Consultoría, S.A.U., Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española (ICTE), Rusticae Latinoamérica, NH Hotel Group, The Movie Virtual, S.L. and THR Innovative Tourism Advisors.

Among the topics discussed during the development of the workshop agenda include: "The timing of tourism in Mexico”," Investment in the tourism industry" and "Tourism vision on the states of Nayarit, Queretaro and Quintana Roo".
