Oman will showcase its 25-year tourism vision at The Arabian Travel Market

Monday April 25th the 23rd edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2016 will begin at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

ATM 2016Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE, Governorof Dubai, the Arabian Travel Market has become the largest showcase of its kind in the region and one of the biggest in the world.

Thisedition of the ATM will focus on mid-market tourism, and will host more than 2,800 exhibiting companies representing over 86 countries, with 113 new exhibitors and over 64 country pavilions.

Oman will attract 1.4 million international tourists by 2019


This year at the ATM 30 hotel operators and travel agents will be participating with 'Oman Tourism' to promote attractions from across the country and tourism representatives will include the country's Director General of Tourism Promotion, Salim Al Mamari and the Director of the Oman Convention Bureau, Khalid Al Zadjali.

The Sultanate of Oman continues to feature in global destination hotlists; and will attract 1.4 million international tourists by 2019 with an increased airport capacity and increased diversity in its tourism offer, according to an ATM press release.

Oman’s Tourism Strategy for 2015 through to 2040 has an investment value of US$35 billion and the country is working hard to increase its global appeal with exciting initiatives such as the launch of an e-visa system by Royal Oman Police in February last year,” said Nadege Noblet-Segers, Exhibition Manage of the Arabian Travel Market.

“It has also been a destination on several travel hotlists, and was ranked 20th on the New York Times list of the 52 places to visit in 2015 as well as gaining kudos from one of the most popular travel sites, Skift, who last year named it as the number one spot in the region, saying that it ‘packs a lot [into] a small package’,” she added.
